PRIOR TO FITTING
- Rooms must be as clear as possible where the work is to be done.
- If rooms are not clear, as much care as possible will be taken while moving furniture, but no responsibility will be accepted by the company for any damage or breakages, unless caused by our negligence.
- Where vinyl is to be fitted around WCs and Pans, please ensure that they, and the surrounding floors, have been thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and dried prior to our fixing.
- If no effort has been made by the customer to remove furniture or clean WCs and surrounding floors, unless previously discussed, a charge of £50.00 + VAT per area may be incurred.
- Any wires the customer requests to be fitted under the carpet can be undertaken by the fitter, if previously agreed, but we stress that while the carpet is being installed, should any such wires be cut, stapled or nailed etc. – although care is taken for this not to happen – the company accepts no responsibility unless caused by our negligence.
- James for Carpets Ltd accepts no responsibility for damage caused to pipes, electrical or alarm wires that are not concealed to British Standards, unless caused by our negligence.
- All doors to be trimmed or shaved at the customer’s own risk, subject to site conditions. Clients may have to make their own arrangements. Door trims are subject to a charge of £20+ VAT per single door.
- Freshly painted areas such as skirting boards or doors, can be prone to scuffing for up to five days after painting.
DEPOSIT AND FINAL PAYMENT
- A minimum deposit of one-third of the total, or £100, whichever the greater, is due in order to process all orders. A 50% deposit will be required for all Commercial work. The condition of the balance will be agreed and written on the invoice as ‘Method of Payment’ before any work is started.
- The final payment is due one day prior to completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed and written and signed for on the invoice.
